We've lost alot of people and have officially stopped doing 25mans

2. Why do you want to join TFB:

I saw an ad for your guild on a website while searching around for a new 25guild. Most importantly, you guys seem very stable. Also even on a reduced-hours schedule you still progress; and from everything I've read on your site you are serious about performance. After quickly glancing at your server forums there was nothing bad about you guys. All this in combination makes me think I would be a good fit here and I would be happy to be a part of the guild.

3. Are you easily offended by racist, sexist, or other such humor?:

4. Do you have any friends within TFB? Any enemies?:

I'm from a different server so I don't think I know anyone. So no friends, but no enemies either. Unless someone here is my secret enemy - striking at me from the shadows completely anonymous.

I don't play them much currently, but they're worth mentioning because some of my progression has been done on them instead of my rogue. Tier 6 was mostly on the priest, and tier 11 was mostly on the pally.

(10Mans are Optional and schedule around these 2 dates)

What is the absolute Latest you can raid until, we often will go 30min to 1hr later than scheduled depending on progress and content left? If I'm already in a raid, then my schedule is cleared far enough to keep going till late into the next morning.

1. If the raid leader was to wrongfully chew you out in the middle of a raid, how would you react? (be honest and explain!)

It would depend on the situation. If it was an issue where he had the wrong understanding of a mechanic (for example "why didn't you stand in that" when really we're supposed to stand in that), I would make my case to him in whispers at the time.
If it was an issue that he thought I was doing something I wasn't, I would wait till after the raid to talk to him.

2. If you were asked to sit out for a raid that you signed up for well in advance, how would you react? (be honest and explain!)

I'd be fine with it. I've been on the leadership sides of many of my past guilds and I know that there is mostly a fairly sensible reason to sit certain people out.

2. If you lost both your hands in an accident and the doctors said, 'Well, we can leave them as stumps or we could attach the hands of a monkey', what would you do?

Monkey hands, hands down (lawl). I'm pretty sure they still have opposable thumbs and such so I would still be able to do everything I do now. Plus I would be free to fling my crap at people, and tell them it was the monkey's instincts taking over.

3. Your best friend of the opposite sex is dying of a degenerative bone disease. One day he/she tells you it's their dying wish to have sex with you. You agree but after a few minutes he/she coughs, sputters and dies. Do you finish?

If she was holding on to life for however long until 2min in to sex she lost all desire to live then that reflects kinda badly on me. I can't think of any bone condition that be aggravated by sex so that would basically be the only answer for why she died. I would stop and go wallow in shame.

4. Why are you actively searching a new guild? What expectations do you have?

My current guild has stopped doing 25man raids. My only real expectation is to be treated fairly.

I've been playing since the original beta. I've been in 5 guilds in my wow history.

9. What can we expect from you in our raids?

Good dps and 100% effort every pull.

10. Despite our 2 day raid schedule, and having an application that tests your humor, we can be very serious and your DPS/HPS, reflexes, and raid attendance can and will be heavily critiqued by the raid leader. Can you handle this kind of criticism?

11. What do you feel are the most important aspects of your class/spec? What do you bring to the raid, and how do you maximize it?

Rogues' various abilities/tricks can greatly extend their survivability; to the point that under normal circumstances they take less damage then most everyone else and in many situations they can stay and keep dps'ing where others wouldn't be able to. These traits also make it easy for them to handle some fight mechanics simply where others would need a much more complex strategy. A good rogue can control many situations through utility that others can't.

Sub rogues have less buildup time then other rogue specs, and can switch targets much more effeciently. While they have a more complicated "rotation" then other rogue specs, they do the most single target dps. Self healing is also built in to their rotation, which coupled with a rogue's naturally low damage intake makes them very sturdy. Points can even be shifted to further decrease their aoe damage taken for certain fights even more (over 30% less damage taken) without really impacting dps. Shadowstep adds an extra level of mobility on to the already very mobile class. The only real weakness of Sub is the bad aoe damage which I've compensated for by having combat as my 2nd spec. Combat's aoe is extremely powerful, and its cleave (bladeflurry) is borderline overpowered.

Just to clarify my work schedule: I always have 2 weekdays off. Currently its Tues/Weds, but if accepted here I would change it to Mon/Wed. Other then that my schedule mostly changes each week.

13. TFB has no guarantee that server transfers will automatically be accepted into the guild. Failure to perform at our level, or failure to attend raids reliably during the recruitment period can and will result in denial. Do you accept this risk?

Why did you put 3/3 in Lethality instead of maxing out Coup de Grace??

Looks like you killed Lord Rhyolith on heroic, were you just unlucky with the drop rate of Dreadfire Drape, I'm pretty sure that it is BiS for all agility classes??

I'm leaving this app for others to nit pick since my own knowledge of rogues is pretty much nil (I let THE rallin handle that, as well as DK's). We do have a spot for a dedicated third rogue worthy of our third set of legendaries that will probably be made before MoP but until Rallin and others take a look at your gear, talent, and reforge/gem choices, I really can't say a whole lot else. Assuming they don't see anything glaringly out of place, you're set to come on over and show us your stuff.

Just a heads up, currently we're at 28/25 which is pretty much average, however we're losing 2 raiders in about 3 weeks time so the spot is there for a long time raider who wants it, but until these two guys take their leave, getting you in for a trial run is really all I can offer. After they are gone, the spot is open to anyone.

I had horrible luck on Dreadfire Drape, and now I feel sad remembering it =( As far as Lethality v Coup de Grace: depends which spec you are asking about.

For sub: Sub's crit rates are really high especially for backstab (70-80%). So the 7% evis damage or 10% crit bonus tends to skew quite a bit into Lethality's favor. Some sample numbers of backstab vs evis here: http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-tq6o1x24xy00gmal/details/8/?s=1765&e=1989. Spreadsheet shows Lethality about twice as valuable as Coupe de Grace point for point.

For combat: Coupe vs Lethality are really close. From what I've read Coupe passes Lethality in a ruptureless rotation (that part's obvious) and that Ruptureless passes rupture at certain gear levels. I spreadsheeted myself and rupture was about 200 dps up. However, right now I only use combat for Ultrax and that makes comparison easier to do (just checking the spreadsheet). This is mostly due to my combat gearset just being my sub gearset though, as its geared more towards crit. I remember reading something a while back about Coupe vs Lethality in fights where you're spending a significant time cleaving, though to be honest I don't remember the details at all - just that the topic existed. That's a situation where I would familiarize myself with the full answer when I get there. It'll depend on what you need most from me in your heroic strats I guess!


Astraeus: That would be fine with me. I would need about a week to convert my schedule to having Mon/Wed off for raiding from my current Tues/Wed. I'm fine sitting out other then that untill I have my opportunity.

3/3 coupe is better for combat. Now that rupture isnt used anymore at all by any rogue in the 390+ ilvls you can pretty much take rupture off your bars. If you were using rupture, and put a rupture on a target w/o a bleed it was a dps loss. Second, any fight you were BFing evis was better. Third, If you capped energy by using rupture whereas you would not have capped using evis, it was a dps loss.

The reason rupture was used is that rupture is better damage per energy. Now, with stupid haste numbers energy capping is the issue.

I would look into going combat full time now that you have the 410 mace + dagger. For now, combats prob better off for all fights cept spine.
