Parses

Unfortunately the person logging for our guild has largely stopped doing it, and I don't have any really good relevant parses.

http://www.worldoflogs.com/guilds/115544/

That's the link to Scripted on World of Logs, but like I said there aren't many good or relevant parses.

1. Reason(s) for leaving current guild:

The raiding atmosphere in Scripted has grown increasingly toxic, with the leadership either absent or causing drama. By the end of raids everyone is frustrated to the point of quitting, and can't stand each other. Overall raiding has become worse than a job, it's become a stressful mess.

2. Why do you want to join TFB:

I noticed on your forum post that you have room for a Holy Priest, and furthermore that your raid nights work with my current schedule. I'm also impressed with TFB's ability to progress, especially with the limited raid time. I want to join TFB to find a raiding home with stability and progression, where I can become part of a great and friendly raid team (especially going into MoP).

3. Are you easily offended by racist, sexist, or other such humor?:

No, so long as it isn't intended to be malicious.

4. Do you have any friends within TFB? Any enemies?:

I'm friends with a shaman named Hammerstorms, who claimed to have friends in TFB. I don't know who these connections would be, however.

5. Do you have Ventrilo?:

Yes

6. Do you have a Mic?:

Yes

7. Do you play on a faggy ass Mac?:

No

8. What is your internet connection type?:

Cable

9. How reliable is your internet connection on a scale of 1 to 5?:

5

10. Do you have any alts worth mentioning?:

Section 3a: Misc.[/B]
---------------------

1. If the raid leader was to wrongfully chew you out in the middle of a raid, how would you react? (be honest and explain!)

It would depend on the nature of why I was being chewed out. If it were something in relation to mechanics or attempts on a boss where I was right (and absolutely sure of that fact), then I would calmly make my case either in raid chat or vent and ask if I was misunderstanding the mechanics.
If I was being chewed out for a loot issue or a personal issue, I would either mentally table the issue until after raid or take it up with an officer/leader in whispers so as not to delay the raid.

2. If you were asked to sit out for a raid that you signed up for well in advance, how would you react? (be honest and explain!)

I would be frustrated, but if it were what was best for the raid then I would express my disappointment and accept the fact that it's for the best. I think it's important to be open and honest, so if I felt misused then I would say so respectfully. However I also don't like drama unless it's absolutely necessary, so I wouldn't make a huge deal about it. After a day or two it's just water under the bridge anyway.

Section 3b: Misc.
---------------------

1. What two web sites do you visit the most for WoW information?

MMOChampion.com
ElitistJerks.com, depending on what type of information I'm looking for. Some of the class/spec threads are no longer kept very well, so I'm always careful with what I take or don't take from a source like Elitistjerks.

2. If you lost both your hands in an accident and the doctors said, 'Well, we can leave them as stumps or we could attach the hands of a monkey', what would you do?

I'd take the hands of a monkey. As I'm currently applying to graduate schools in mostly English departments, I can't imagine the difficulty of doing my work without hands. And I could scare small children with them. However opening doors might be difficult without opposable thumbs? I'm not sure I'm not into zoology.

3. Your best friend of the opposite sex is dying of a degenerative bone disease. One day he/she tells you it's their dying wish to have sex with you. You agree but after a few minutes he/she coughs, sputters and dies. Do you finish?

No. I'm not into necrophilia, and considering the fact that the question seems to indicate that horrible sex is what caused the death then it might be safe to conclude that ending said terrible sex would be a good idea.

4. Why are you actively searching a new guild? What expectations do you have?

I'm hoping to find a new guild with a talented but friendly atmosphere to progress with. I want to get back to a 25 man guild since I was originally in a 25 man guild on Elune during ICC, and those were some of the most fun times I had raiding.

5. How long have you been playing WoW and how many guilds have you been a member of?

I've been playing WoW since late BC. I've been in a number of guilds over the years, being in a total of 3 since mid-WotLK. The first was the 25 man guild I mentioned, which fell apart in early Cata. I started my own guild, but my main tank and a couple top dps left and there simply wasn't enough of a base to recruit replacements from (we were Horde on Elune, which is something like 95% Alliance).

6. What is your longest tenure in any one guild?

7 Months-1 Year

6b. Was this a raiding guild?

Yes

7. How active do you plan on being on the forums during and after your recruitment period?

Once a day

8. What previous raiding experience do you have?

I played throughout Wrath, though my serious raiding was in ICC when I was 12/12 HM when it was content (Heroic LK on 10 man, rest on 25). In early Cata I started my own guild, and we were 5/13 HM. In Firelands I joined Scripted, and have been 6/7 HM with them. Unfortunately Scripted is falling apart due to the horrible raid atmosphere, and I'm looking for a guild I can settle in for a long time (I'm honestly very tired of changing guilds at this point).

9. What can we expect from you in our raids?

You can expect me to bring all necessary consumables, to know the fights, and to be prepared to take orders but also adjust as necessary during the fights. You can expect me to be serious about progression and taking raid time seriously, but you can also expect me to be friendly and amiable. I tend to be more quiet at first, but become more outspoken as I get to know people.

10. Despite our 2 day raid schedule, and having an application that tests your humor, we can be very serious and your DPS/HPS, reflexes, and raid attendance can and will be heavily critiqued by the raid leader. Can you handle this kind of criticism?

Yes

11. What do you feel are the most important aspects of your class/spec? What do you bring to the raid, and how do you maximize it?

Holy is an extremely strong raid healer.

12. If there's anything you want to add, either a self bio, information about friends who may join, or if you simply want us to know something not asked, this is the time to let us know.

App too long?

13. TFB has no guarantee that server transfers will automatically be accepted into the guild. Failure to perform at our level, or failure to attend raids reliably during the recruitment period can and will result in denial. Do you accept this risk?

Yes

14. [Transfers] In our experience, the players who come from other realms are the ones soonest to transfer again unexpectedly in the middle of a tier. You are the one spending the money to server transfer, make sure it's a wise investment. Yes?

Yes

I ran into problems with the app saying my responses were too long, so some of my answers are drastically shortened from what they were originally. I'm more than willing to answer any questions that arise, and I'll add more complete answers as a reply to the post soon.

Excellent application. The only thing I have to really say is that we would need you as Holy. Our resident disc priest has claimed discipline territory and the last time another priest tried disc, she raped him to prove who the alpha priest was, and then raped him a little more just for good measure. Last I checked she has a huge penis too so the poor guy lined his underwear with tissues for days.

Whenever you want to faction change, assuming I didn't scare you off (please stay), we will try and fit you in ASAP. This Monday we are clearing DS from the second boss as we got H-Morch on Monday, and then this coming Wednesday we are full clearing since the following Monday will be the day after Christmas. I'm looking forward to meeting you in game, I have a feeling you'll be a star healer.

Hey, it's his fault. He forgot the safe word.

After looking at your reforging and some of your enchants/gemming, I'm going to assume you play Holy more often than Disc? I come to that conclusion because I see you choose haste over mastery here and there, which I understand is normal for Holy considering they're more into the Prayer of Healing spam (and pretty much all stats are weighted the same), whereas with Disc mastery only comes behind Intellect. I haven't played Holy since Wrath, but from what I've read about it, it looks like you know what you're doing in both your gear and your parses (those parses that are available). I'll be excited to learn more about Holy; I've heard it's quite useful now after the patch, probably better than Disc on a lot of fights.

I'm personally not a huge fan of the Archangel spec, and like Holy I don't have much experience with it. Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you chose Archangel over a different Disc spec? I've always been wondering why I see Disc priests using it after the bad reputation it received near the beginning of the expansion, but I never had a chance to ask one. It's been a very long time since we've had another healing priest. :(

As of right now, this app looks very promising. What I've learned from Priest healing for the past three expansions is that it feels like every priest plays differently, so I'm excited to see what you can do and how you utilize yourself in a 25 man raid as opposed to a 10 man. :)

Thanks for the responses! I anticipated that I would be primarily holy, and I'm actually really looking forward to it as I've grown to love the playstyle (and people constantly underestimate holy priests, which I have to admit I enjoy too). To respont to Demyx, my gear is primarily slanted toward holy since holy is in my opinion the much more gear dependent healing spec. For haste I aim to be around 10%, which puts me over the first renew breakpoint and puts me in range of gcd cap with borrowed time as disc. One of the things I really enjoy about holy though is how the regen is much more passive (not having to watch rapture timers), which allows me to keep a better eye on surroundings.

In regards to Archangel, I shared your skepticism in early Cata. Archangel had a lot of problems then, and to be fair some of them still linger. However after trying the spec and getting used to it, I find it invaluable. Atonement is useful on every fight since they fixed its range, and on some fights it's downright overpowered (like healing heroic domo, where holy fire crits would heal the tank for 160-180k and place a gigantic divine aegis on him). I also love archangel for the mana efficiency, as you can continue to heal while charging up a 5% mana return. The fact that it boosts healing considerably is also a plus. The biggest limitation of archangel is that you can't pick who atonement heals, so sometimes a melee will get the heal when you really wanted the tank to get it.

I'm available to transfer at any time if you would like me to do so and try me out. I could even do so for tomorrow night's raid if you'd like. I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone, it already feels like a great group!

I heard holy paladins are just the holy priests that were too stupid to be let out without a football helmet, is this true? :)

Transfer over whenever you like. I'll be sure to find a healer to sit out this coming Monday to see how you are on the easier fights to see if I can drag you along for the harder ones. Admittedly we will be taking an hour or so on Heroic Hagara to test the waters, but we are prioritizing getting N-Madness of Deathwing to get everyone a weapon who wants one for the next couple weeks, even if that bites into progression time.

Alright I've just made my farewells and will be transferring momentarily. I'll hold off on xferring alts until you get a chance to see me in action, and decided whether or not you like what you see. Which sort of makes me sound like eye candy or a stripper or something. O wells. See you alliance side!

It always is harder to judge healers over DPS since it's not all about the heal meters but I can safely say you've gone far beyond my expectations on several occasions and we welcome you to this dysfunctional family.
